Sick Pet Care

Helping Your Pets Get Better Faster

When your pet is ill, we know you want answers. That’s what we’re here for at Faithful Friends Veterinary Clinic. Providing sick pet care, including a complete physical examination and any additional tests, gives our clients answers when they really need it. If you’re ever unsure about whether your pet needs a veterinary visit, remember that it’s better to be safe than sorry. We go the extra mile for our patients in Dublin and surrounding areas. Once you contact our clinic, we’ll accordingly advise you on your pet’s care.

Complete Nose-to-Tail Exam

Once you bring your pet in for an illness exam, we’ll completely check their physical state. Unfortunately for owners, many of our pets are conditioned to hide obvious signs of weakness or illness. This makes identifying their health problems that much more difficult without additional testing and diagnostics. At Faithful Friends, we utilize a range of diagnostics to ensure that we promptly identify and treat your pet’s condition.

Diagnostic tools we may use to identify what’s ailing your pet:

  • We use X-rays to locate abnormalities in your pet’s organs or internal body.
  • We check for internal parasites from your pet’s stool with our in-house laboratory.
  • We may test your pet’s blood for heartworm disease.
  • We may run comprehensive bloodwork to diagnose underlying conditions.
  • If we suspect your pet has a skin condition, we’ll analyze their skin cells to pinpoint a bacterial or fungal infection.

Signs of Illness

Sometimes the signs of illness in your pet can be confusing. You may question what is or isn’t normal behavior. Still, if your four-legged friend exhibits certain signs, you can be sure they need a veterinary visit.

Some signs of illness in pets may include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Lethargy
  • Licking or biting of the skin
  • Panting
  • Refusal to eat
  • Stumbling
  • Vomiting
