Clinical Trials & Research Studies

Clinical trials and research studies at Faithful Friends

Clinical trials and research studies are important ways to continue the advancement of veterinary medicine and development of new treatments for canine and feline diseases and disorders. Participation in research allows our patients access to advanced diagnostics and treatment modalities they may not have otherwise had access too, often at low to no expense to the pet parent. Research studies are how we learn more about certain disease processes and expand knowledge in veterinary medicine. Dr. Saffire has experience as an investigator for many clinical trials including treatments for diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, blood pressure, osteoarthritis and anemia in cats. We have a close relationship with the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center Clinical Trials Office to help get our patients access to other local clinical trials https://vet.osu.edu/vmc/cto/clinical-trials. Additionally, we have also been able to help enroll some of our patients in other clinical trials around the country that may not be local to our area (example: Cornell University, Texas A&M, University of Minnesota).
