Feline Veterinary Services

In addition to routine services such as examinations, vaccinations, preventative care, dental wellness and diagnostic services, having a board-certified feline specialist on staff means our Cat Specialty Center is able to offer more advanced diagnostics and procedures to feline patients. Dr. Saffire treats complex diseases utilizing advanced, minimally invasive diagnostics in a low-stress feline friendly environment including ultrasound, fine needle aspirates, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and colonoscopy. Surgical procedures available include ventral bulla osteotomy (VBO), gastrointestinal biopsies, cystotomy, subtotal colectomy, perineal urethrostomy, dental procedures including extractions, management of tooth resorption, and cancer diagnosis. Additional services include management of feline chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, constipation, megacolon, feline nasopharyngeal polyps, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), idiopathic cystitis, crystalluria, urinary tract obstructions, blood transfusions, dental disease, squamous cell carcinoma, lymphoma, chronic pain, osteoarthritis and behavioral issues including destructive scratching, intercat tension and house-soiling. We are also equipped to help manage those feline patients who deal with stress and anxiety when they leave home and need extra care and/or medications to help.

Introducing Ashlie Saffire, DVM, DABVP (Feline)

Dr. Saffire is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners), the OVMA (Ohio Veterinary Medical Association), is an Accredited Veterinarian for the USDA/APHIS and is the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), President-Elect.

She is a published author, a board member for the American Association of Feline Practitioners and a tutor for the University of Sydney’s Feline Medicine Distance Education Course. She loves teaching and can be often found speaking about feline medicine at conferences and online webinars in addition to hosting veterinary students at the clinic.
