Dr. Henricks

Growing up in Southern Ohio, Dr. Henricks learned very early in life the enjoyment and fulfillment that comes from the relationships we have with our pets.  Since graduating from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, Dr. Henricks has built his professional career on providing high quality medicine to pets, connecting with his clients, and community involvement.  Dr. Henricks and his wife Ashlie live in the area with their two children, Madeline and Mason, and their dog, cat, and rabbit.  Outside the office, Dr. Henricks enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and exploring the outdoors.

What aspect of your job excites you the most?
Working with clients to set a plan for the health of their pet that will allow them to live a long and healthy life.

What animal cartoon character represents you the best?
Manny the woolly mammoth from Ice Age because he’s a big, friendly, and caring character that enjoys being part of a herd no matter how crazy that herd may be.

Describe what a perfect day with your pet would be?
There isn’t much that I enjoy more than being out on the water with my family and Little Dog enjoying the sun and fun times.

Brittany Corder

Brittany Corder started the veterinary technology program at Columbus State Community College autumn of 2014; she was also hired on as a veterinary assistant at Hamilton Road Animal Hospital in July 2014. Brittany likes spending her time with her husband and three dogs, working out and Graeter’s Ice Cream. She graduates from Columbus State May 2016 and plans to get her RVT this summer.

What aspect of your job excites you the most?
I get excited about educating clients about how to take the best care of their pets and help them find ways to achieve a happy, healthy life for their fur babies.

What animal cartoon character represents you the best?
Probably Dot from Animaniacs because Iiii’m cute and I like girly stuff like flowers, adorable baby animals, and anything miniature as well as joke around and be crazy sometimes. Also, my legal name happens to be Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fana Bo Besca, the Third.

Describe what a perfect day with your pet would be?
A perfect day with my pet would be going on a run or a long walk on a nature trail and a nice long car ride with the windows down to cool off. Of course a perfect day wouldn’t be complete without Graeter’s ice cream and curling up on the couch watching TV.

Jess Dawson

Growing up Jess always knew she wanted to work with animals, the decision to become a veterinary technician was a simple one. After graduating from The Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School, she started working at MedVet in the surgery department. She spent the first part of her career working as a Surgery/Anesthesia technician as well as a Service Team leader. From there she moved to South Carolina to work as an overnight Emergency technician for a year and a half before moving back home to be closer to her family. The opportunity to work at Faithful Friends Veterinary Clinic came up and she decided to take the plunge in to the world of general practice, looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

What aspect of your job excites you the most?
I enjoy the interaction with the pets and their owners and running anesthesia on the pets who need surgery.

What animal cartoon character represents you the best?
‘Dug’ from UP because I tend to get distracted easily… Squirrel.

Describe what a perfect day with your pet would be?
A perfect day with Diesel my lab would be spent at the beach, playing fetch for a very short time before he would get distracted exploring, playing in the water and occasionally chasing the birds.

Julie Hart

She always knew that she wanted to work with children or animals.  Julie graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Special Education.  She taught students who were blind or visually impaired in the Chicago area for 5 years before having two children, Jake and Maddie.  She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Greg, for over 20 years and her children are now 17 and 14. She decided that she wanted to go back to school to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology at Columbus State Community College.  She is so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with very special children and now, to work with wonderful animals and their families.

What aspect of your job excites you the most?
I love meeting new pets and their people.  Developing a relationship with an animal and the people that care for that animal is extremely rewarding.  I also really enjoy the science that this job allows me to know and continue to learn.

What animal cartoon character represents you the best?
Perdita from 101 Dalmatians…polite and well-mannered but can be feisty if need be and will do anything to protect her loved ones.

Describe what a perfect day with your pet would be?
I have very fond memories of my grandparents’ farm.  When I was a child, I spent much of my time in the barn with the cows and cats or running through the fields and exploring the woods with their dog, Ginger.  I would love to be on that farm again with my own two dogs, Lucy and Zach.  Can’t think of a more perfect day than that.

Rachel

Rachel has had pets her whole life and has always wanted to work in the field of veterinary medicine.  Before becoming a veterinary assistant at Faithful Friends, she worked as a kennel technician and doggie daycare attendant in the area.  She also has a busy pet sitting service on the side.  Rachel will be starting the Veterinary Technician program at Columbus State this fall.

What aspect of your job excites you the most?
I love meeting all types of pets and clients and helping sick animals feel better.

What animal cartoon character represents you the best?
Cri-Kee from Mulan because I love going on adventures and no one can understand me when I talk to my pets

Describe what a perfect day with your pet would be?
I love taking my dog Beau on long walks and enjoying to outdoors.
